THE SHIP HAS DOCKED
THE SHIPPING CONTAINER HAS ARRIVED AT AGAHOZO-SHALOM!
Agahozo-Shalom would like to send a sincere thank you to all of our supporters and donors! For the past 7 months, a shipping container filled with donated items has been making its way to the Village, shipped all the way from NYC, and it has finally arrived!
The container shipped out in Elizabeth NJ to Port of Gibraltar, where it switched ships. It continued onward via the Cape of Good Hope, past Zanzibar to Kenya where it off-loaded at Mombasa. After a relaxing and beautiful international cruise spanning 10,803 nautical miles, the container then went through a Tanzania customs inspection, and was loaded onto a truck to Kigali, Rwanda. It went through Rwandan customs and made its way into Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village, where the students gleefully received the donated items!
While every single one of our supporters contribute to the continued support necessary for the Village’s success, we would like to specially thank the Brown Shoe Company for donating men’s shoes, Sam Edelman for donating women’s sandals, and Suzanne Levy-Polikoff who donated a wide range of needed materials including used clothing, school supplies, and basketball and soccer gear. Additionally, thank you to Liquidnet for donating computers to the Village. Everyone in the Village is overjoyed to receive these donations, and to continue building our community to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
