Entrepreneurship Takes Flight Thanks to SONARWA General Insurance Company Limited

Beginning in their second year at the Village, students are enrolled in our entrepreneurship program, which teaches concepts like capital, marketing, and job rights and responsibilities.

Student-centered classes help our kids master these topics, building the confidence and creativity they need to begin thinking of themselves as entrepreneurs. In their final year at ASYV, our students put these lessons into practice by participating in a business plan competition. Working alone or in groups, students develop their original business plans and pitch them to panels of external judges.

This year, we are proud to recognize and celebrate the winners of ASYV’s third annual business plan competition, who have developed actionable business ideas with the potential to empower them as independent business owners and contributors to Rwanda’s ongoing development.

We are also grateful for this year’s sponsorship from SONARWA General Insurance Company Limited. As ASYV’s insurer, SONARWA's support has enabled us to provide the winning teams with the financial backing they need to begin implementing their ideas. Together, we hope to provide our graduates with the knowledge and resources required to become successful young entrepreneurs.
