Individuals traveling to rwanda can visit us for the day or stay overnight.

A trip to ASYV is more than just a visit, it's a chance to immerse yourself in our community and learn from our students and staff. Visitors from around the globe introduce our kids to different cultures and life experiences, as well as a world of opportunity. By enabling the free exchange of ideas, ASYV’s visitor program enables our students and guests to build a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Visiting the Village was a game changer for me. I went in person, and it suddenly clicked. The sense of community and the dedication were apparent throughout. I fear my words don’t do it justice, but I know that once people go they consistently find themselves wondering how soon they can return.
— Vlad Khandros, Visitor, Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village

Types of Visits Offered

We offer two types of visits for individuals traveling to Rwanda: day and overnight.

ASYV provides specialized custom itineraries for groups of six or more people (staying for a minimum of one day to a maximum of four nights). A flat administrative fee of $250/day (6+ hours) will be added to the rate for groups of this size. Groups who are interested in a longer trip experience should visit asyv.org/service-learning to learn more about ASYV's 8-night service learning trips, or for a custom quote.

Day visits consist of a Village tour and a meal in the ASYV Dining Hall with our kids. More information for day visitors can be found here.

Overnight stays offer a full-day experience including a tour, meals, evening Family Time with the students, and accommodations in our guest houses or Intore Learning Community (ILC). Friday visitors are also invited to Village Time, our weekly student talent show held in the Village’s outdoor amphitheater.

In addition, we are happy to help arrange side trips to nearby destinations including Akagera National Park.
