Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom visited Agahozo-Shalom to witness the great work that is being done here. Blair was elected as Prime Minister in 1997 and served until 2007, becoming the youngest Prime Minister since Lord Liverpool in 1812. Today Blair is active in numerous philanthropic projects, including the founding of Africa Governance Initiativethat works towards strengthening African governments to help the world’s poorest. On January 12th, Blair made an appearance in Rwamagana for a tour of the new solar field and to see Agahozo-Shalom, showing his support for our investment in Rwanda’s leaders of tomorrow. After seeing a glimpse of ASYV, including our modern agriculture lessons and the Science and Art Centers, Blair expressed his admiration saying, “The youth at ASYV prove the transformative power of education and make me even more confident for Rwanda’s future.” We couldn’t agree more!
