AGAHOZO-SHALOM YOUTH VILLAGE/SILVERSPORT ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP
Among the many milestones celebrated at the Village this month was the announcement of a partnership with Silversport, a US based company owned by NFL Hall of Fame Member, Franco Harris.
Silversport donated 500 pairs of socks and 500 Silver-towels that will enable the Village to conserve water. They are made with antimicrobial threads infused with silver, allowing them to be used longer before needing to be washed. This innovative technology will potentially help prevent the spread of disease as malaria mosquitos are attracted to bacteria that grow on dirty socks and other body waste.
In a moving ceremony, the enrichment year class received gifts of socks and towels that marked the launch of the partnership with the Village. It was attended by several Village Board Members and other notable guests who gifted each student a new towel, pair of socks, ASYV bracelet, and Core Values card. JC and ASYV Board Chair, Laurie Toll Franz spoke to the incoming class about the importance of the partnership and Franco’s lifelong dedication to Tikkun Olam.
The Village is very excited for this new partnership and heartfully thanks Mr. Harris and Silversport for their generous contributions as our students begin a new epoch of their lives.
