Our Kids' Year of Healing and Hope

Dear Friends,

Throughout the year, I’ve found myself reflecting often on healing and hope and how, at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV), our students are able to find the healing and confidence they need to find hope and then build a better future.

That journey is reflected in the pages of our 2023–2024 Annual Report, Healing the Heart, Repairing the World. In the report, you'll find the voices of many of our family members, including students, alumni, and staff. Student Teta Deborah Butati tells us, “When you want to change the world, you first change the community you’re in.” 

You'll read how, through our student-led Tikkun Olam community service projects, our educators’ commitment to developing new tools that help our students thrive, our progress towards sharing our model with communities across the globe, and other innovative programs, we are working hard to do what Teta Deborah sagely advises.
